Big 12 Has Strong Showing

Three Big 12 schools ranked in the top 15 in the final 2011-12 Learfield Director’s Cup standings, headed by Texas at No. 6. For the 18th consecutive year, Stanford came out on top in the Director’s Cup, which awards points for national rankings in 10 men’s and 10 women’s sports for the fall, winter and spring college sports seasons. Texas A&M finished ninth and Oklahoma 14th. The Sooners have been in the top 15 for the last three years. Baylor was 25th in the rankings, giving the Big 12 four schools in the top 25. Florida came in second to Stanford, followed by UCLA, Ohio State and Florida State, rounding out the top five. For a second straight year, all 10 Big 12 schools ranked in the top 75 in the Director’s Cup standings. The conference’s two new members, TCU and West Virginia ranked 45th and 52nd, respectively.
