Fresno City College adds national Director’s Cup to all-sports honors
Fresno City College has added a national all-sports award to the overall state title it won for its performance in championship events for the 2011-12 school year. The Rams are the inaugural recipient of the Junior/Community College Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup, after taking home state championships in wrestling, men’s basketball and men’s tennis.
Fresno City had 1691/2 points to top Mt. San Antonio (1601/2) and Orange Coast (158), the same two California schools it led in winning the state’s share of the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators Cup earlier this month.
NCAA Divisions I-III, NAIA and JC winners will be honored at a national convention that gets under way today in Dallas.
