NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings Released
Olivet Nazarene currently occupies the second spot with 515.50 points after a second place finish in men’s swimming and diving, sixth in women’s swimming and diving, seventh in men’s indoor track and field and 13th in women’s indoor track and field.
Wayland Baptist currently occupies the fourth spot with 471.50 points due to a runner up title in men’s indoor track and field, a third place finish in women’s indoor track and field, eighth place in men’s swimming and diving, 11th place in women’s swimming and diving and 34th in wrestling.
Rounding out the top five is Southern Oregon with 466 points. They placed second in wrestling 29th in men’s indoor track and field and 38th in women’s indoor track and field.
Five winter NAIAchampionships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles:women’s swimming and diving– Oklahoma Baptist; men’s swimming and diving– Oklahoma Baptist;women’s indoor track and field– Oklahoma Baptist; men’s indoor track and field,Indiana Tech;wrestling-Grand View.
The final NAIA winter standings will be released Thursday, March 26.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in up to 12 sports — 6 women’s and 6 men’s.
