The University of Alaska Anchorage has finished 46th – one spot shy of the school’s highest ever – in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings for NCAA Division II, after the recent conclusion of 2009-10 collegiate sports calendar.
The Seawolves totaled 345.5 points in final standings, which did establish a mark for the program’s most ever. UAA’s ranking came on the strength of NCAA finishes in six sports – women’s cross country’s (5th place, 75 pts), skiing (7th place, 69 pts), men’s outdoor track & field (14th place, 61.5 pts), volleyball (2nd round, 50 pts), women’s basketball (2nd round, 50 pts) and men’s cross country (17th place, 40 pts). The Seawolves’ placings in women’s cross country and volleyball represented the best ever for each sport.
