Fall Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings Update
CLEVELAND – The final Learfield Directors’ Cup winter standings for Divisions II and III have Grand Valley State and Williams in first place, respectively. Stanford leads the Division I rankings after the madness that March provided.
Grand Valley State leads DII with 765 total points, Williams leads DIII with 743.25 points.
Stanford continues to lead all of DI with 944.25 points after placing 5th in women’s basketball, 11th in fencing and 14th in men’s swimming.
In Division II, is Alaska Anchorage in 2nd place with 488.25 points, in third is Colorado School of Mines with 441 points, UC San Diego is in 4th with 421 points and rounding out the top five is Queens (NC) with 402.50 points.
In Division III, Washington-St. Louis is in 2nd with 707 points, Amherst finishes the winter in 3rd with 589.50 points, Tufts is in 4th with 550 points and MIT concludes the top-5 with 543 total points.
The Division I standings currently have the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2nd with 736.50 points (2nd in fencing, 9th in women’s basketball & 15th in men’s swimming). The Wolverines of Michigan in 3rd with 630.75 points (12th in men’s swimming and 33rd in men’s basketball). North Carolina is in 4th with 628 points (2nd in men’s basketball, 12th in men’s swimming and 21st in fencing). Rounding out the top-5 is Texas with 589 points (capturing the national title in men’s swimming, 5th in women’s basketball and 33rd in men’s basketball).
The next Division I winter standings will be released Thursday, April 14. The final set of winter standings will be released April 21 upon the completion of women’s gymnastics.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.
