NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings Released

CLEVELAND (March 8, 2018) – Lindsey Wilson leads in the first set of the NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup winter standings with 565.50 points. The Blue Raiders tallied a fourth place finish in women’s swimming and diving, fifth place finish in wrestling, 11th place in both men’s swimming & diving and indoor track & field and 23rd in women’s indoor track and field.

In second place with 440.00 points is Wayland Baptist. The Pioneers captured both the men’s and women’s indoor track and field titles.

Columbia (MO) holds the third place position with 409.00 total points. After finishing first in the final fall standings, the Cougars finished 14th and 32nd in women’s and men’s indoor track and field, respectively.

Olivet Nazarene occupies the fourth spot with 407.75 total points, finishing as the women’s swimming and diving runner-up. The Tigers also finished third in the men’s swimming and diving championship, 13th in women’s indoor track and field and 15th in men’s indoor track and field. Olivet Nazarene jumped from 34th place in the final fall standings.

Northwestern (IA) rounds out the top five with 403.50 points. The Red Raiders finished sixth women’s indoor track and field, 24th in wrestling and 29th in men’s indoor track and field.

The Cascade (College of Idaho, Southern Oregon), Great Plains (Northwestern (IA), Morningside) and Sooner (Wayland Baptist, Oklahoma City) Conferences lead all NAIA conferences in the top 10 with two institutions each.

The final NAIA winter standings will be released Thursday, March 22.

The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.
