CLEVELAND (March 7, 2019) – Following the first round of winter championships, Lindsey Wilson College moves to the front of the NAIA Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup standings with 513 total points.

Representing the Mid-South Conference, the Blue Raiders tabbed four top-10 finishes – men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s track and field and men’s wrestling – and a 28th-place finish in women’s track and field to leap from 16th to the front of the NAIA standings.

After finishing 10th in the fall, Oklahoma City University moves into second with 411.25 total points following two top-10 performances from women’s track and field (5th) and men’s wrestling (6th) and a 12th-place finish from men’s track and field. Previous leader, Southern Oregon University moves into third with 404.5 total points coming off of two top-25 performances – men’s wrestling, men’s track and field – and a 51st-place finish by women’s track and field.

The College of Idaho Coyotes utilized a fifth-place performance from the women’s swimming and diving, an 11th-place finish from men’s swimming and diving and two top-50 showings from the women’s and men’s track and field teams, to occupy fourth with 401 total points. Keiser University with 365 total points rounds out the top five after making an incredible jump from 49th place in the fall. The Seahawks defended their national title in men’s swimming and diving, finished as runner-up on the women’s side, and claimed third in men’s track and field to catapult into the top five.

With three institutions in the top 10 (Southern Oregon, College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon University; 10th, 335.75 points) the Cascade Collegiate Conference leads all NAIA conferences, followed by the Great Plains Athletic Conference and Mid-South with two each.
