Final Winter Division I Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup Standings

CLEVELAND (April 25, 2019) – At the conclusion of the NCAA Division I winter season, reigning Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup champion Stanford leads the way with 1158.75 total points heading into the spring championship season.

The Stanford Cardinal and Michigan Wolverines remain atop the division for the third consecutive week. Stanford earned team titles in women’s swimming and diving and men’s gymnastics to help garner 617.75 points through all winter competitions, while Michigan was led by four top-five performances. Penn State and Wisconsin trade places once again as the Nittany Lions tallied points in both men’s and women’s gymnastics. For the first time this year there is a tie within the top-five as Kentucky and Minnesota are knotted at 661.75 total points. The Ohio State Buckeyes move up to seventh, previous #5 Notre Dame slides to eighth, Virginia occupies ninth and the Florida Gators move back into the top-10.

Women’s: Basketball – Baylor; Bowling (NC) – Stephen F. Austin; Gymnastics (NC) – Oklahoma; Hockey (NC) – Wisconsin; Swimming – Stanford; Indoor Track & Field – Arkansas
Men’s: Basketball – Virginia; Hockey – Minnesota Duluth (DII); Gymnastics (NC) – Stanford; Swimming – California; Indoor Track & Field – Florida; Wrestling – Penn State
Co-ed: Fencing (NC) – Columbia; Rifle (NC) – TCU; Skiing (NC) – Utah

The Big Ten continues to lead all Division I conferences as its institutions now occupy half of the top-10 – Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio State. The ACC and SEC follow with two institutions each in the top-10. Combined with Indiana (17th), Iowa (23rd) and Nebraska (24th), the Big Ten currently has eight schools in the top-25.

The Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup standings will return on Thursday, May 16 with the first spring sports update.

Please note the name change to the Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup following the merger between Learfield and IMG College.

The Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in NCAA Championships.
