NCAA Division III Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup Standings

CLEVELAND (Nov. 27, 2019)  For the second year in a row, Johns Hopkins sits atop the first set of Division III Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup standings. A pair of national championships in women’s cross country and volleyball catapulted the Blue Jays to 358 total points overall.

In addition to its pair of national championships, Johns Hopkins also tallied a third place showing in field hockey and a fifth-place finish in the men’s cross country championship. Just 12 total points separate 2-5 place holders –MIT, 211 points; Chicago, 208.5 points; Middlebury, 205 points; and Emory, 199 points – with each scoring in three of the four championships to date. MIT’s highest finish came with a fifth place showing in field hockey, while Chicago’s top finish was in women’s cross country, 4th. Middlebury captured the field hockey title and Emory had a runner-up finish in volleyball.

The UAA leads all of Division III conferences with three institutions in the top-10 – Chicago, Emory and WashU.

The next 2019-20 NCAA Division III Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup standings will be published on Thursday, December 12. Overall in Division III, you must count the following four sports – men’s basketball and soccer, women’s basketball and soccer – along with the next highest 14 (max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender.

The Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in NCAA Championships.
